Check with your specific airline about luggage limits. These days it’s a 50- to-70 pound limit per bag for most flights, but you will find differences between airlines. You will normally find them at large stores such as Wal-Mart.

Make your bags easy to identify and difficult to mistake. Put tags on them that won’t fall off. Remove old out-of-date tags, especially those with barcodes, from previous travels. You may want to take the time to itemize what is in each of your bags. Keep this list with you in case the bag gets lost.
Bring dollars to exchange for local currency to use while you're here. [http://www.2-forex.com/currency/currency-exchange-tunisia-dinars.php] As another option, you can probably use your ATM card, but check with your bank about fees both for ATM withdrawals and also for credit card purchases.
Take most new items out of the original packaging and put them in something else such as zip lock bags. Countries often charge an import tax if you bring in lots of new items (because it appears you’re going to sell them). That's why we recommend taking stuff out of its original package and distributing these things throughout your clothes so that they don't seem to be more than they really are.
Bring key materials. Recommended items include the phone number and email address of whoever is going to pick you up at the airport, passport, copies of your passport, driver’s license, travel guides for Tunisia, copies of health insurance information, copies of emergency contact numbers, GSM-compatible cell phone if you have one, personal items, and some gifts if you anticipate being in Tunisian homes (since Tunisians often bring a gift when they visit someone). |
