| The name of Douz may be of Berber, Roman or Arabic origin.. it does not matter, the important thing is that Douz is the gate of the Great Sahara, which passed by travelers, nomads, settlers and conquerors. This city founded there with it tens of centuries, has experienced successive crops, but it is the Arab-Muslim civilization that has permeated most, for it was an obligatory stop for the first Arab caravans that were going to Africa to spread Islam and Arab culture. For these reasons it has become, since ancient times, a symbol of culture and Saharan influences. Thus, it has been selected by major film makers as decorations in their films. The festival was attended largely to the release of the image of this city and give it special characteristics in culture and tourism worldwide ... and thanks to the appearance of the city 's is actually improved, becoming worthy to be called "the gateway to the Sahara" is irrefutable evidence of the efforts of the state for development of all regions of the country and what the right choice bet on the human being | |
